The Great Snow of 2007
Life around here has been... well... snowy. On Monday Rica, K-dog and I headed to Cincy for press check on the new catalog. It was a pretty fun trip, good conversation, lunch at an awesome Thai restaurant, and a pretty quick turn around time on the actual work part of things. We did end up leaving a little early because of a looming snow storm. Luckily, the storm came later than the weather people anticipated so we were able to make it back home without event.
The next morning however, I woke up to this.....
I am lucky enough to have awesome bosses who think that keeping their employees alive is more important than the office being open. So, Tuesday and Wednesday were declared snow days. WOOHOO!!! I did have to do some work, but most of it involved talking to Rica, so I don't know how much it counts as work. Will managed to get out of going to class too. I'm still a little bitter about that. I remember snow worse than that when I was there and the NEVER closed. Hell, they didn't cancel classes on Sept. 11th. Anyhoo... We were both home and by day 2 we kinda had cabin fever. We shoveled the driveway and made the 4 mile trek to Blockbuster. Season 2 of Grey's Anatomy! yay!!!!! When we pulled back in we noticed just how giant the snow piles at the end of the driveway were..... Time to play!!!
Finally, I try to make my way out of the snow pile. Trust me, it's not as easy as I made it look here.
After such a long day of snow play, Oscar passes out on the couch. My favorite part of this picture is that his nose is smooshed against the coffee, and he obviously just doesn't care.

I bet that guy's truck is still buried. Awesome. My husband hasn't shoveled our drive, despite saying he would do that, for days and it's now 3 solid inches of ice and if my free books from the press check don't get delivered because of our walkway? Well, it won't be a pleasant aftermath. I'm glad Oscar enjoys the snow at least. The rest of us are less than enthused.
The snow was really pretty, and it was nice to have three days out of school, but I am so glad that it is just about gone. Come on spring!
