So many blogs
As is typical for this time of the year... life has been crazy! Luckily for me, it's been pretty much good crazy. However, because of the craziness, i haven't really had the time (or motivation) blog. As a result many events that truly deserve their own post are getting crammed into one. In an effort to be fair to the events of my life, I've decided to give this post multiple titles so that each event feels equally important. That having been said....
I LOVE IT!!! This is honestly the first time in my life that i feel like it's actually worth doing my hair in the morning. I was blessed/cursed with straight hair. As in the kind that no amount of hair spray could even make it hold a curl for more than a couple hours. So the morning routine for most of my life has been wash, condition, brush, let air dry. I've never really used much product except in the winter and that's been strictly to minimize static. Until this hair cut i could probably count on one hand the number times i've used a hair dryer in the last year and i can guarantee that the hair god has used a flat iron on my hair more than i ever had. (i had to go buy one the day i got my hair cut because.... oh i didn't own one!) Now i religiously dry, apply goo, and flat iron and i don't care that it takes me longer in the morning because i LOVE it! Yea for fun hair!
A couple months later the sales guy calls to tell me that the dealership finally got smart and got a Fit that is strictly for test driving - not for sale. I go in to drive it and of course fall even more in love with the perfect car. I continued to resist the urge to put money down and wait. Then, the phone rings, there is a Blue Fit Sport (exactly what i wanted) just delivered and no one has laid claim yet. I proceed to freak out. I'm not really ready to buy yet (trying to save a little more to keep payments lower), but my current car is fading fast and i'm just not sure it's going to make it through the winter on the interstate. I ponder and number crunch for a full day before finally caving and going to buy my new car!!! She's so PRETTY!!!! I love her! She's FABULOUS!!!! The picture post will be coming soon. I HAVE A NEW CAR!!!!
Last year we moved into the house right before Thanksgiving. We didn't do the tree thing because it was just too much to try to handle. This year I was determined to get a tree. And i wasn't having a fake one. I was all excited about having my own real tree in my house. There was only one problem. I just bought a new car and there was no way i was gonna strap a Christmas tree to the top of it. Will's car has had a desk strapped to the top of it at one point. But he wasn't excited about strapping a Christmas tree to the top of it. So, dutiful old car had one last mission to accomplish.
Football and Perfection
Oh... in case you're wondering the Colts won! But mostly, I saw Matthew McConaughey!!!!
Well, there ya go. So many blogs in one! Consider yourself updated!

Let me re-cap
So the last couple weeks have been a little hectic. You know that whole holiday thing. So I'm going to try to recap the major events of the last couple weeks.
The Sunday before Thanksgiving I headed out for California for a conference. The flight out was very exciting. (Click Here to find out why) I was traveling alone which always kinda sucks, but i tried to make the best of it. I managed to snag In-N-Out twice! SCORE! I ate at a cute little Microbrewery while watching the Colts lose to the Cowboys (MAD!). I realized that my hotel was positioned directly across from Disneyland. Rather than tackle Disney alone (that just felt sad somehow) I opted to go to Downtown Disney. I had dinner at the House of Blues. John Legend was going to be performing there that night but of course it was sold out. (K-Fed had been there the night before, somehow i doubt ticket sales were as good though) After dinner I walked around and found this....
I'm sure most of you understand, or are at least familiar with my love of Jamba Juice. Now, you can't read the sign real clearly from this photo, but I'm sure some of you (Quitter, K-dog, probably even Rica) have notice the black and white stripes on the entrance next door. It's SEPHORA! Sephora next door to a Jamba Juice! oh sweet happiness!
Another night I entertained myself with something I've always wanted to do, even though i was quite certain it'd be pretty campy (and it was). I went to Medieval Times! Dinner and show and you get to eat with hands and no one yells at you for it! Sweet Action! When i started thinking about this post I had elaborate plans for explaining the intriguing and intricately woven plot line (sense the sarcasm) but that's a lot of work for me. Important thing... the blue knight won! Not only did he win the competition (which was a little touch and go there for a minute) but he also won the heart of the princess. Most importantly...
This is a picture of him right before he threw me a pretty carnation. He totally had the hots for me. Stupid princess! Anyway, after the show i gave the cute little girl who was there with her family the flower. Didn't want to bring it home and make the boyfriend jealous.
I flew home late Wednesday night and by the time i made it home it was technically early Thursday morning. HAPPY THANKSGIVING! We started our Thanksgiving at Noon at the boyfriend's mom's family (about an hour drive). Yummy food. Then we headed to my fam's (another hour in the car) for yummy food and visiting with some family that I haven't seen in a while. The boyfriend took an early leave when my uncle invited him to leave with them and watch football on his big screen while i stayed to chat. After several hours of catching up and some super yum dessert (a la Rachael Ray - I love that girl) I made the hour long trek back home.
Friday was an evil day and I don't want to talk about it.
Saturday we made the hour trek to the boyfriend's dad's fam. And after that back to my fam.
Sunday was the best day EVER! Ok maybe not, but it was close. We went to the Colts game, and of course they STOMPED the Eagles 45-21. Quick break down of the game (i should let you know in advance that the "break down of the game" is basically just the points that i cared about... not a boring sportscaster's breakdown) Let's start with the bad and get that out of the way. Brandon Stokley is STILL not playing. I want to cry. In the last 2 minutes of the first half Dallas Clark (Tight End who has been playing Stokley's Slot position since he's been out) hurt his knee after a great catch (and apparently great tackle). He took quite a while to get up, but managed to walk off the field without assistance. For the 2nd half he came back out with the team, but was wearing jeans and t-shirt. I'm not expecting to see him play this Sunday. Marvin Harrison had a catch stripped from him which was weird because that man is awesome. It counted as an interception and I'm pretty sure it was run back for a Cowboys touchdown. STUPID! There were also a couple calls that i thought were kinda bogus, but that always happens.
On to happy things! Reggie Wayne made a catch that can only be called spectacular. I'm not smart enough to make youtube do what I want, but it's a ten second video, it's worth watching. If your not a big football fan (Rica, Will) the rule is, the receiver has to catch the ball, and BOTH feet must touch in bounds. Check it out. Later in the game Reggie also had a touchdown. The Eagle's kicker missed at least one, maybe 2 field goal attempts (stupid kicker... seriously... it's their only job, you'd think they could get it done). The Colts forced a fumble (though it looked like and incomplete pass until we saw the replay) and ran it back for a touchdown. But i think the best part was the star of the game Joseph Addai. He's the new rookie running back that the Colts drafted to help fill the spot since they let Edge go. Addai isn't the starter yet, but he and Dominic Rhodes shared the running back responsibilities pretty evenly, until last Sunday. Addai made 4. Let's count them 1... 2... 3... 4.. FOUR touchdowns Sunday. He was on fire! This of course THRILLED the Quitter, because she recently acquired a Joseph Addai Jersey.
As we left the suite we made it down the hall just in time to see John Madden getting into the elevator. The quitter squealed and yelled, "Thank you Mr. Madden!" We made our way downstairs and waited (with my boyfriend and her co-worker in tow), armed with Sharpies, by the exit that the players come out of. It wasn't long before Mr. Brandon Stokley came walking out. He stopped to sign several autographs and eventually made it to me and YES... HE SIGNED MY JERSEY!!!! BRANDON STOKLEY SIGN MY JERSEY!!!! BRANDON STOKLEY SIGN MY JERSEY!!!!BRANDON STOKLEY SIGN MY JERSEY!!!!BRANDON STOKLEY SIGN MY JERSEY!!!! And if you don't believe me.....
BRANDON STOKLEY SIGN MY JERSEY!!!!BRANDON STOKLEY SIGN MY JERSEY!!!! We waited quite a while longer and saw several other players come out. Eventually we saw him. Rockstar of the game... Joseph Addai. It took him a while to make it down the line because i'm fairly certain he signed something for anyone and everyone that asked (as did Stokley, they are both so nice). Finally he made it to the Quitter who was so giddy that seconds before he got to her she look at the concerned security guard and promised, "I'm not going to tackle him." Addai finally made it to the Quitter and she got her jersey signed. I only wish I had video footage of the dance and squeal that came after (though i'm fairly certain i was just as bad after BRANDON STOKLEY SIGN MY JERSEY!!!!). We walked back to the parking garage high on autographed memorabilia.
This week has been fairly uneventful. Yesterday the boyfriend got a email from a co-worker who found a stray Siberian Husky. She took the little guy home, but her 9 year old female Great Dane was NOT amused. She was trying to find him a good home and we agreed to meet him and let Oscar meet him. I was fairly certain (as was the boyfriend) that by the end of the day we would have a new addition to our family (or at the very least be giving the little guy a trial run). The co-worker that found the dog returned home to find that he had managed to escape. A small part of me was relieved, let's be honest 2 cats, 3 humans, and a 70 pound Golden Retriever is enough to fill a house. Adding a 50 pound Husky could be over kill. But at the same time the boyfriend has wanted a husky for a long time and I've practically insisted that when we get one it be a rescue dog that needs a good home. It seemed meant to be. We were assured that if he came back she would let us know, but Huskies tend to be loners so I'm not holding my breath.
Wow... that brought down the whole mood of this post didn't it? Oh... i talked to the Quitter last night and she is adopting a new cat. It's one of the hairless, so ugly it's cute things. His name is Mr. Beans! HAHA! Mr. Beans!!! AWESOME! The boyfriend and I are going over to watch the game on Sunday so maybe I'll be able to score some pics! Enough rambling for today!
